With riches comes responsibility. Responsibility to God, the Source of all riches, to myself, and to my children. I also have a responsibility to show thanks by giving back in some way, because the more I give the more I get; the cycle can continue endlessly and I never get poor again. Which brings me to another thought. The more you give the more you get, so doesn’t it make sense to give. If you are poor in finances try giving something away, preferably some of the little money you do have. Do it as a show of gratitude when you do have a little money and trust that you will get more. If you are poor in friends try being a friend. Give away a smile or helping hand to someone else. Trust me, it will come back to you.

The principle of giving can be applied to all areas of life. If you are feeling particularly poor in a certain area of your life just give something away and watch it come back to you. You may not see instant result, but you will see them eventually. I remember when my daughter was smaller but began growing out of her clothes, her crib, and toys. I began giving them away to people who needed them and pretty soon I noticed more blessings coming my way. I got a better job, a better place to live, and a better car. I didn’t look for those things, but they just happened (not really) to come my way. I was making room for more by letting go of what I had. It wasn’t out of desperation or guilt, but out of pure love. It felt good to give and I had no expectation of return because I was grateful for the chance to have it then give it away. That is how giving and gratitude works in wealth-building.
