What it Takes to Expose Your Brand
Should I accept the opportunity to work with you these are the steps I take to review your product, attend your event, or interview your brand celebrity/subject matter expert:
- Read and reply to the pitch
- Receive, open, and unpack the sample, travel to the venue, or prepare questions for an interview
- Read the enclosed material and try out the product, engage at the event, or schedule time for the interview
- Possibly shoot some photos or video and maybe edit those
- Draft, edit, and publish the post
- Distribute to my social media channels and monitor
- Engage with my readers who leave comments
This is several hours of work, spread over several days, to produce web content and links back to the brand’s website that will live on my blog, generating exposure, traffic, and SEO value for the brand, forever. Would you do all this work for free, a box of product or trinket, or no reciprocal exposure to your thousands of followers?
