Over the last few months I’ve been sharing ways to make extra money on the side. I’ve covered most interests but there are still many more to consider.
If you got a copy of the Side Hustles for Single Moms ebook, you know that there are over 200 ways to make extra money. But repetition always leaves an impression so I’ll review a few of the past side hustles now.
You can go back and read the tips and get your creative juices flowing since Spring is almost here. For many, Spring is the time of year for new beginnings. Our thoughts are on new adventures, spring break with the kids, and making summer plans. All these thoughts and plans require money so what better time than now to start your side hustles? Here are a few ideas:
Side Hustle Series: Profit from Your Green Thumb – You can make great side money if you enjoy working with the earth. From flowers to veggies to landscaping, there is no limit to what you can do.
Single Mom Side Hustle Series: Cater to Kids – Babysitting, tutoring, or driving kids around are just few ways to make extra money by working with kids.
Side Hustle Announcement: US Census Bureau Hiring – It is not too late to apply for a part-time position with the Census Bureau. The fun begins next year but training will likely start this year.
Side Hustle Series: Sell Your Body – As horrible as this title sounds, it’s really not as bad as you think. You can sell your body to science for medical studies, give plasma, or help a couple have a baby by becoming a surrogate mother.
Side Hustle Series: Ironing and Mending – This age old profession is still very much in demand today. Professionals, especially men, like a freshly starched shirt and pants, and they hardly know how to sew a button back on. You might be just the person they are looking for to assist them.
Single Mom Side Hustle Series – Event/Party Planner – If you like planning and you like parties this just may be the side gig for you. There are many niches you can focus on to bring in the extra bucks.
Side Hustle Series – Rent out your space – If you have an extra room or have extra closets you can rent out that space to someone. With the current economy, people are looking for ways to cut cost. Others simply want a place to store their things when they go on extended trips to another state or country.
Side Hustle Series – Bake Up Some Profits – If your cakes and cookies melt in the mouth then you probably should be selling them. You can offer a variety of baked goods or specialize in one thing. Whatever you do, make sure you put out samples with an order form.
With any business you should have a plan. It can be complicate or it can be simple. I tend to like simple things. Decide what you will offer, how much you will charge, and how you will tell people about it.
You might create fliers, hand out business cards, or put a sign on your car. Word of mouth is the one of the best ways to advertise so be sure to tell your customers to tell their friends. Pretty soon you won’t have to pay for advertising.

I’m selling my fresh chicken eggs as a side business. I’m just starting so hopefully I can later expand. So far I’ve sold quite a few dozens and half dozens.
Yum! Fresh eggs. Boy, I wish you lived closer to me. I’d certainly buy some eggs from you. It’s amazing that the simplest things can bring in extra income. Can’t wait to see how it grows for you!
