Home Atlanta Local Events My Wii U Experience in Atlanta

The kids and I attended the Wii U Experience this weekend to check out the new Wii console. Nintendo is coming out with a new game console in time for the holidays. My kids and I have had the Wii for the last two years. We’ve enjoyed playing with it. Admittedly we don’t have a lot of games (they are just too expensive for my taste), but the game we do have are pretty cool.

Mario Dominated the Experience

At the Wii U Experience we got to play a few new games that are coming out. I can’t tell you any of the names other than Batman and Just Dance 4. There were a lot more games and a ton of gamers to play them.

I got talked into playing a couple of Mario games and was clueless about what I was doing. Everyone was gracious and just went with the flow.

My Favorite New Games

The game that caught my attention the most was Wii Fit U. I have the original Wii Fit with the board and software. I love it. But the new game has new games included. Got to see the trampoline game which looks like so much fun. I want it. Also got to see the Luge game. The player has to stretch out with their bottom on the board and move like a lugger. looks like a great ab workout.

Great Features Your Little Gamer will Love

Overall it was a fun experience. The new console looks like a PSP to me but it has a touch screen, accelerometer, and gyroscope. If you are not a gamer you probably have no idea about what I’m talking about. No time to explain it here and most would not be interested, so I won’t bore you. Just know your kids love it. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that it can be used as a TV remote too.

Release Date and Price

Unfortunately the release date and price are not available yet. All they could tell us is that it will be available in time for the holiday season.
