R.I.P. Steven Covey (Author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People)
Today I found out that one of my self-development and leadership mentors, Steven Covey, passed. His book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
was the start of my journey toward a better me. He’s also the reason I became a self-development junkie (I’ve since gotten help for this addiction) and I learned so much about how important it is to set goals and reach for my dreams.
Mr. Covey was a wonderful person and had such deep love for his family. I think that fact is one of the reasons I appreciated him so much. Through his book and videos I’ve seen of him, I learned about prioritizing my life, putting family first, and essentially doing first things first.
His planner is one of the first I used in my attempt to get organized . I could make lists, prioritize tasks, and read quotes….did I tell you I love quotes? You can see a few on the side of this blog.
A few years ago I had the privilege to take the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People signature training course to become a facilitator. It was a wonderful five days of insight and connection with other people who believed in what he taught.
If you have never read the book, I encourage you to get it and read or listen to the audio book. You will not regret it.
RIP Mr. Covey. I pray your family and close friends find comfort in this time of loss. The world is a better place because of you!
