Home Single Motherhood New Sitcom Pilot “Bad Mom” in the Works

Another single mom sitcom is in the works. This one could be pretty interesting because it will focus the realities of raising a child alone.

Jenna Elfman to Star in CBS’s ‘Bad Mom’

The actress will play a single mom who has relied on her own mother to take care of her children.

Jenna Elfman has closed a deal to headline the CBS pilot “Bad Mom.”

The single-camera comedy—from ABC Studios and Kapital Entertainment—revolves around single mom who has relied on her own mother to take care of her kids. When her mother decides to get her life back, she’s left to become the sole caregiver.

The comedy is from Irish actress-writer Sharon Horgan (who can be seen in IFC’s “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret”). Horgan and Aaron Kaplan (“Knowing,” “Made of Honor”) are executive producers.

If “Bad Mom” gets a green light, it will put Elfman back at CBS, where she starred on the network’s sitcom “Accidentally on Purpose.”

Samantha Gregory has been encouraging single moms to learn how to thrive and not just survive the single mom journey. She is a coach, mentor, writer, mobile app developer, and mom of two.
