Rich Single Momma is basically a personal finance blog for single moms. We talk about money issues for single moms and how to improve our situation.

My journey of financial independence began some time ago and for the last 10 years I have been reading personal finance websites and blogs. That’s a pretty long time, but in that time I’ve learned so much about how to manage, save, invest, and make extra money.

The wisdom that’s I’ve gathered from these sites is the same wisdom I pass on to you. I love reading and researching, especially on the internet, so I come across the most interesting information.

Here are a few of my favorite personal finance sites:

Websites
The Dollar Stretcher  – this was one of the first websites I encountered when I got online. The information is priceless and I am still getting the newsletter. I bought a few personal finance books because I heard about them on this site.

About.com Frugal Section – as a new single mom in college I needed to make my money last. So I found that using the tips from this site helped me stretch the money and still get things that I needed and wanted.

Blogs
I’ve since discovered newer sites that are fast becoming my favorites. Take a look:

I Will Teach You To Be Rich  – this blog is pretty cool. The guy who writes it has so much good information. He’s down to earth and offers practical solutions and tips. His 30-day challenge to save $1,000 was really popular. I read through some of those posts and had several light bulbs to go off. It’s worth the read.

Fabulous Financials  – Ms. Single Ma is still one of my favorites. She is a single mom who’s completely debt-free and increasing her net worth everyday. Check her out.

Get Rich Slowly  – This is a blog that I want to read more of. I like the concept and believe that is the only way to truly get rich. He offers very sound advice and is fun to read.

Books
The Simple Living Guide – this is one of the first books I read on personal finance, among other things. The tips and advice in this book started me on the path to living a simple yet successful life. Here is the companion website for more information and online tips.

Your Money or Your Life – This book is quite an eye opener regarding money. It takes a no-holds barred approach to finances to get you to think about where you money goes and how you will change your life in the process.
