Rich Single Momma’s Monday Moments
Daylight Savings Time and Partying
It’s Monday and as usual I’m in a daze. The time change is not helping, especially today. I find myself dragging along and yawning, a lot. But the good thing is that the weather is absolutely beautiful. It’s sunny and warm so going out for lunch helped to revitalize me.
Man it sounds like I was out partying all weekend. Well I was, but not in the way you might think. I was out and about at church, dinner, the park, playing, and attended a Luau hosted by my brother and his wonderful new wife. There is nothing like hanging out with family and friends for fun, food and games.
That’s the thing about having a great support system. You get to spend time away from the house and same old drudgery. The kids get to be around different people too, which makes for better attitudes and leaves them dog tired, lol.
So the weekend was great, but Monday mornings are a challenge. I’m just grateful that I get to share my joy with you and I hope you had a great weekend too!
International Women’s Day
Did you know that yesterday was International Women’s Day?
I didn’t know but I think it’s pretty cool. Women all over the world, past and present, make contributions to our planet. It doesn’t matter how small or obscure you think your contribution is, you impact the lives of people every day. It could be the hug you give to your child, the smile you give to a stranger, or the kind word you give to someone who is feeling low.
For more information about International Women’s Day visit
the website and read about the initiatives going on around the world.
Think About This
What are you tolerating in your life? Do you have a cluttered closet? Is there a person that you know you should cut loose but you haven’t? Do you have a door that squeaks? Are you constantly telling yourself that you are going to get started on that project tomorrow?
These are the little things that we tolerate everyday and
they wear on our nerves. It nags in the back of your mind that you should fix it but you don’t. Why is that? I have several things that I need to take care of, but life seems to get in the way more often than not. That really is no excuse for peace of mind so why don’t we make a pact to take care of those little irritating things and get on with life with more peace of mind. Are you game?
Free Movie Monday
I just signed up to get the free movie promo code for Redbox. You know, those red boxes in the Walmart entrance. Well the code for today is F3T9L6.
It expires at midnight tonight so don’t expect it to work tomorrow. The DVDs normally rent for $1, which is still a good deal, but who doesn’t like free. So run over to Walmart and pick out a good movie to view tonight. Make that your self-care treat for today.
*Please note that the movie rental is only for one night. You have to use a debit or credit card but you will not be charged for the rental if you return it on time. If you go over one night you will be charged $1 per day plus tax for every night you are late in returning it up to 25 nights, then it’s yours to keep.

I like what you’re saying about getting out of the house. Sometimes you just have to step away from the TV, newspaper, and computer. Yesterday I went to the dog park with the boxer, and it was great to see a bunch of living creatures having fun and not caring at all about the darned economy.
I’m with you on family. Ain’t nothing better.
I’m a single mom that doesn’t have complete support so that is nice that you do. Is those red box thingies just at walmart or in grocery stores too because I haven’t seen them at my walmart but I’ve seen them at the grocery store. Will the code still work?
@ Patrice – the code should work at any Redbox since the code is from the company. Give it a try. I didn’t realize those boxes were in grocery stores too. I’ve heard that some McDonalds have them too.
