Every woman dreams of the perfect life. Very few actually create a plan to have it go. Most would agree there is no perfect life and use that as an excuse to stay in the same place. Their circumstances is the conference for the life so which ever way the needle point is to wave your life will turn.
This is a very dangerous way to live. Why? Because at the end of that life, you see more regrets and missed opportunities and success. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, is refrain most likely heard on death beds.
You can’t control everything that happens in your life, but (more…)

When I was a young single mom I carried a lot of stress, because I was going through a very difficult time. I had two small children and had moved to a new town to start a new life. Eventually I enrolled in college and set out to earn my degree while working and taking care of the kids.
Although life with my kids was filled with joy, there were days when my motivation was low and I just wanted to lay down and give up. I felt like the hardest thing in the world was to juggle three major things in my life. Being a mom is a hard job, but add being a full time student with all of the studying and tests, and then a job I need to provide for my little family—it was all just overwhelming.
The hardest thing to do when you are going through hard times is to get motivated. The dark clouds become a constant friend and your body begins to slowly decay.

This has been a slow week on the blog but a busy week in my life. That doesn’t mean that I don’t care about you guys. I am very concerned about how all of you are doing.
I got an email from a lady who is having a really rough time with unemployment and custody battles for her kids. It saddens me that so many are struggling. It is a fact of life, but I am a firm believer that things can and will change with a lot of prayer, a plan, and perseverance. A good support network is priceless as well.
Survival is the theme of most single moms. Whether it’s the struggle to get adequate childcare, a better job, to put food on the table, or a hundred other things, survival is the common element.
Too often surviving becomes such a large focus of life that it completely overshadows everything else. What happens when survival is the focus? (more…)

This morning I read on one of many weekly newsletters from a fellow writer. As with most newsletters this first few days of the new year the topic was about goals. The thing that stood out the most to me is that we get what we expect. If we expect bad things to happen, money to run out, things to be hard, then guess what? Bad things will happen, your money will run out and things will be hard.
That’s not to say that life will always be a bed of roses. But if disappointments happen they won’t be devastating because so many other good things are occurring. It’s all about how we view and think about things. (more…)

I came across this poem that Napoleon Hill included in the original edition of Think and Grow Rich:
“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.
For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.
I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid.”

What wage are you asking of life? Have you been asking and expecting too little? Just because you are a single mom, have been down on your “luck” and seem to struggle for the very basics of life, you don’t have to continue down this path. It’s time to start asking for more and expecting more.
The best way to do this is to start setting goals. Start simply but don’t hesitate to ask for big things. I am more than happy to show you how and share with you how life has been paying me big time. It’s no gimmick or sham, but through desire, determination, and belief I have reached too many goals to count.

Hi! Welcome to RichSingleMomma.com. I started this website almost a decade ago because I couldn't find any blogs back then that helped single moms with money. I was having some success in that area so I decided to share what I knew about side hustles, making extra money, and managing money. Read more...
